"Participants will be working at a private school in Magdalena. Student’s International has been responsible for teaching English to children in pre-school through 6th grade. The school is not religiously affiliated, but we have the freedom to share Christ in whatever way possible. Participants will help teach English classes, clean and organize the school, as well as visit homes of children. Also participants wil be working in literacy program teaching to women's group."

Site Description:
Students would be assisting in and eventually teaching English classes. They would also be making regular home visits to families in the school, getting to better know children’s families and home environments. In addition to developing relationships with children and their families and becoming more familiar with the Guatemalan culture and educational structure, they would learn how to adapt teaching strategies to a different environment and culture.
